The Leadership Algorithm with AI as your Co Pilot

Tuesday, April 7, 1:30 PM

In today’s world of hybrid work, shifting employee expectations, and rapid advances in AI, managers face more complexity than ever. This session explores how AI can enhance, rather than replace, human leadership by freeing managers from repetitive tasks and helping them focus on what truly matters: building trust, driving engagement, and nurturing growth. Drawing from practical insights and playful examples, Lisa Black and Lisa Sordilla will break down the repeatable “algorithms” that define great leadership: clarity, recognition, and career momentum. Attendees will learn how AI can act as a co-pilot in leadership development, talent management, and performance assessments—while also understanding where the human touch is irreplaceable.

Participants will leave with a practical playbook they can immediately apply in their next 1:1, along with inspiration for using AI tools to amplify, not diminish, the power of human connection.

Key Takeaways & Bullet Points

● AI as a Co-Pilot in HR & Leadership

     ○ Automate routine tasks so managers can focus on people, not paperwork.

     ○ Use AI to scale values, processes, and training—without replacing critical human interactions.

● The Algorithm of Leadership ○ Managers succeed when they drive engagement through three key elements:

     ○ Clarity – setting direction and expectations.

     ○ Recognition – reinforcing progress and effort.

     ○ Career Momentum – helping employees grow.

● Where Humans Outperform Machines ○ Empathy, trust-building, and cultural storytelling can’t be outsourced to AI.

     ○ Managers must balance data-driven insights with genuine connection.

● Practical Playbook for Managers ○ Concrete steps to apply the “manager formula” in 1:1 conversations.
     ○ Tools and tips for integrating AI into check-ins, reviews, and development planning.

● Creative Engagement with AI

     ○ Using engaging training formats (avatars, AI voiceovers) to introduce managers to AI tools.

     ○ Exploring unexpected, playful AI applications (e.g., surprising historical examples) to spark curiosity.
