Edward Contreras is an accomplished Human Resources leader with over two decades of experience in employee relations, organizational development, and workplace culture transformation.
Since 2022, he has served as the Director of Employee Relations at
Endeavors, a nationally recognized nonprofit known for its impactful work in crisis services, Veterans support, and housing assistance. In this role, Ed leads critical functions such as conflict resolution, employee grievances, metrics analysis, and internal consultation, ensuring that employee concerns are addressed with fairness and transparency, which led to Endeavors’ accomplishment as a Top Workplace in the Non-Profit sector.
Before joining Endeavors, Ed dedicated 22 years to Alamo Colleges, where he held key leadership positions overseeing Employee Relations, Civil Rights (Title IX/Title VII), and Diversity and Equity initiatives. His work included managing complex investigations, dispute resolution, employee surveys, and strategic HR metrics, directly contributing to the institution’s recognition as a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient.
Beyond his professional roles, Ed actively supports the broader HR community as an Executive Board member for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) San Antonio chapter, where he helps shape the future of HR leadership in the region.
Ed holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Syracuse University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management from Our Lady of the Lake University.
With a commitment to building collaborative, high-performing workplaces, Ed continues to drive meaningful change in organizations, creating environments where employees feel valued, heard, and empowered to succeed.
